The Rathtar, from Star Wars Episode VII: The Force Awakens

Version 1.0:  Rathtar v1.pdf

Special Rules:  The Rathtar is a solo major character.  Any cards that damage minors may be used to damage the Rathtar, but the damage done is halved (round down).  For example, Anakin's WRATH would do 3 damage to the Rathtar.

I noticed that no one had done a deck for the Rathtar, which I thought was a shame since there are a number of great decks for the other beasts/monsters in the saga.  I set out to right this wrong by combining two ideas I've had for a while - an attack cards that allows an opponent to immediately counterattack, and a card (heavily inspired by the Magic the Gathering card Null Profusion) that reduces your maximum hand size but gives you a constant stream of card draw.  Those two ideas come together thematically to create a monster who stalls opponents' movement and attacks, and can use a high risk strategy to repeatedly attack with abandon.

Like in the movie, the Rathtar's bread and butter attack is its TENTACLE GRAB.  This attack allows an opponent to immediately counterattack, but if that counterattack does not do damage, the enemy character cannot move or attack until the end of your next turn.  This sets up the Rathtar's finishing move, GAPING MAW, an A6 that turns into an A12!! if an opponent hasn't moved or attacked since your last turn as a result of TENTACLE GRAB.  It can also help the Rathtar avoid attacks altogether, which is important given it has no minors to shield it.

The Rathtar's weakness against shooters is mitigated by ROLLING TERROR, a thematic card that lets the Rathtar move up to 5 spaces in a straight line and attack all characters along its route.  And the Rathtar's offensive kit is rounded out with RAVENOUS, a very thematic card (imo) that lets the Rathtar move minor characters along with it and then damage an entire group of minors at the end of its move.  This card gets rid of pesky minors who might otherwise take advantage of the Rathtar's melee deck and own lack of minors to corner the Rathtar in one area of the battlefield.

The Rathtar also has a high-risk, high-reward strategy with PRIMAL FURY, which limits hand size to 3, but lets the Rathtar draw a card whenever you play a card.  The Rathtar remains vulnerable to discard effects, but otherwise turns into a Darth Maul-like killing machine.  An opponent can discard the effect with three damaging attacks on the Rathtar, which encourages active play rather than running to hide and draw cards once the Rathtar goes into its PRIMAL FURY mode.  And the Rathtar's final card, BIG AND DANGEROUS, gives you an option to fetch or possibly re-use PRIMAL FURY multiple times in a game.

Playing as the Rathtar, it's best to get into PRIMAL FURY as soon as possible, and then use the Rathtar's expansive deck (since it has no minor cards to worry about) to beat opponents into submission.  Once in PRIMAL FURY, it really doesn't matter what card you attack with, since attacking with a low value card just lets you draw another card right away.  If and when an opponent discards PRIMAL FURY, draw cards and try to get to a BIG AND DANGEROUS to repeat the effect, strategically using TENTACLE GRAB when you have high defense cards and possibly working towards an A12 GAPING MAW (though there's no need to get greedy, as the A6 works well too).

Playing against the Rathtar, you have to pick your moments.  Because of the unique single-character deck, none of the original characters can just dive in and go blow-for-blow with the Rathtar--you'll just run out of cards and get overwhelmed by repeat small attacks until eventually you get hit with TENTACLE GRAB and/or GAPING MAW.  Wait for the Rathtar to activate PRIMAL FURY and then use your best attacks and discard effects to neuter or better yet get rid of PRIMAL FURY as soon as possible.  And use your minor character(s) to box in the Rathtar while you replenish your hand.  In addition, the Rathtar is somewhat vulnerable to direct damage, and has some movement weaknesses after ROLLING TERROR is in the discard pile.

Have fun, and let me know what you think!
